Shiseido Makeup – Swatches, Review and LOTD
Shiseido added several makeup items into their collection couple months back. I’m going to share with you what I received and tried.
Sheer and Perfect Compact
This is a new compact powder that has been added to Shiseido’s Sheer and Perfect range. This is a lightweight powder that serves to even out your skintone to provide a healthy, glowing finish that lasts all day. As with the other products in the Sheer and Perfect range, this has very sheer coverage and a natural looking finish.
I have used this foundation several times and I do love the finish it provides. It gives the skin a very smooth, silky and luminous look without looking powdery. It’s like a better, smoother version of my skin. The powder comes in a very lightweight slim compact that is great for carrying around. The sponge that comes with it is the softest piece of sponge you will ever lay your fingers on!
I would have really loved this compact a lot more if not for the smell. Yes, not scent, but smell! I am not usually bothered by scents in makeup, I’m even ok with scentless makeup. This powder has quite a strong smell that is reminiscent of stale oil. It is so pungent that the smell overpowers my entire cosmetic drawer, so much so that I have to keep it in the open. Thankfully, the smell does not linger upon application, so you only smell it for a couple minutes and then it’s gone. But I would really have wished that it had a nicer scent as I really genuinely love the quality of the powder, especially when used over BB or CC Creams.
Lacquer Rouge – RS727
I love liquid lipsticks and this is another one that is really worth checking out. The texture is smooth and creamy, colour is rich and intense, just like a moisturizing lipstick. This shade is a very wearable pinky mauve that is perfect for the office. I found that these lacquer rouges have got pretty decent staying power, which is nice!
Luminizing Satin Eye Colour Trio
There were 3 new eyeshadow trios that were recently launched and this palette (OR316 – Floracouture) immediately caught my eye. I initially chose this palette for the plum shade but was pleasantly surprised at how all 3 colours worked very well together on the eyes, and yes, even the pink shade which I would usually stay away from.
All 3 colours in this palette feels really silky smooth and pigmented, which is very rare for a Japanese brand. I really love how blendable all 3 colours were. They were such a breeze to work with, intense colour with zero fall out.
Here’s a look I did with this eyeshadow trio.
I used the pink shade in the inner half of my eyelids and blended the plum shade on the outer corners, taking it gradually over the top of my crease. The orange shade served as a pretty transition shade above the plum shade.
Have you checked out any of these products? Let me know your thoughts, especially the Sheer and Perfect Compact because I’m curious about the smell!
