Review: Estee Lauder NEW Advanced Night Repair Eye Serum Infusion
The first skincare product I have ever used was not a facial moisturiser but an eye gel. Perhaps it is hereditary but I have always been prone to dark eye circles and puffy eyes (eyebags). Throughout the last 15+ years, I have tried, tested, loved and hated countless eye cream. Although I have tried a huge myriad of eye cream, I am constantly in search of something better than the previous one.
When I was provided the opportunity to try out Estee Lauder’s New Advanced Night Repair Eye Serum Infusion, I was beyond thrilled. My mom used to be a fan of the face serum from this range. One of the reasons why I never picked this range up to try was because I felt that I should keep the “power-pack” products for when I was older — this was at least 6 years ago.
You might be thinking.. this looks exactly like it has always been, so what’s the “NEW” part all about?
Given the amount of pollution around the world, caused by mankind and our advancement in technology (how ironic!), it is inevitable that there would be some impact on our skin. Afterall, the skin around the eyes are the most sensitive and thinnest which requires lots of TLC!
As such, Estee Lauder recently updated their formulation to promote luminous, younger-looking eyes by introducing Anti-Pollution technology.
Everyday pollution can accelerate visible aging around the eyes. This super potent eye serum helps significantly inhibit the appearance of visible damage from environmental assaults. Check out their video below for more indepth view of the reasons behind this new formulation.
Apart from the new improved formula, the packaging was pretty much unchanged. It’s great that this comes with a pump which I love for hygiene purposes. What’s even more impressive is the quality of the pump. It provides the right amount of control so I could accurately pump a small amount as needed, unlike some other products which have pumps which were poorly made and results in product wastage.
Given that this product was marketed as a serum, I expected a gel but was pleasantly surprised to find that it has the texture of a lightweight lotion. I have to say, I really enjoyed the texture and how it feels on the skin. Very easy to blend, absorbs very quickly and so lightweight.
HOW TO USE:
- Because of the texture of the product, all you need is a tiny amount for both eyes.
- Pump a small amount (~2mm) in diameter onto your ring finger (has to be ring finger because it is the finger with the least strength)
- Start dabbing the serum under the eyes and then lightly massage it in circular motion around the eye including the upper eyelids.
- Daytime – I use this alone without any eye cream because it seems to hydrate my skin very well under concealer and makeup.
- Night – I typically use this under my regular eye cream – the Chanel Sublimage eye cream.
Having used it for 3 weeks, I can confidently say that it truly lives up to most of it’s claims.
I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for that one product that works for under the eyes.
