MUFE Aqua Rouge in No. 1 [Photos and Swatches]
Hi there!! Ever since I saw the Make-Up Forever new range of Aqua Rouge last week at Sephora, I could not stop thinking about them. July was the month when I steered clear from purchasing any new makeup.. So I thought perhaps I could indulge a little more in August.
So I popped by Sephora at MBS yesterday during lunch and went insane with my girlfriend. We literally had lip stains for lunch! We were both glued to the MUFE counter and mirror, trying on and cleaning off different lip colors.
After much consideration, I picked up 2 of the colors – No.1 and No.2. Both are fairly nude shades and I love them!! There was a hot pink shade that I adored as well. Might head down to Sephora to grab that on Saturday!
For those of you who don’t already know, Aqua Rouge is a range of creamy long lasting lip stain by MUFE. It was launched on 2 Aug along with the Tango Collection. I have been a huge fan of lip stains because they are so convenient and long-wearing, making them perfect for work. No need to touch-up everytime I eat or drink. Awesomeness!!
These Aqua Rouges were love at first sight for me. I love the wide range of colors from nudes to pinks to berries and reds! It is very rare to have nude lip stains, the only other one I know is YSL which I’ve yet to try.
The texture of the Aqua Rouge is creamy with excellent color pay-off. It can get a little drying without gloss or balm over the stain. To be honest, all lip stains are drying to a certain extent but most importantly, as long as they do not cause the lips to peel, I think they are acceptable.
Long-lasting is an understatement for these lip stains!!! They last all day even with food and drinks. Once the color adheres to your lips, it does not budge. That means, you can have a glass of wine without leaving awful lipstick stains on the glass, you can even kiss your boyfriend and not transfer anything onto his lips 😉
The gloss that comes with it is non-sticky and pretty long-lasting as well. The gloss lasts up to about 3-4 hours. After that, just re-apply the gloss or lip balm to “freshen” up your stained lip color and you are ready to rock and roll!
There is however a slight lipsticky/plasticy scent to the lip stain and gloss but it is really not that big a deal!
I highly recommend you check out these babies!!
Here are some swatches of the lip stain with and without the gloss:
Hope this was helpful for you. Did you pick up any of the colors? If so, which ones? 😉
