Mentholatum Lip Pure Series… For Sensitive Lips

Whenever I’m asked what is the one beauty product I cannot live without – my answer would always have to be lip balm. I can pretty much leave without colors and makeup but I need lip balm everywhere I go. Just because my lips are uber sensitive and dry out like no other.

As such, there’s always a lip balm in every bag that I use or do not use. Not sure about you, but I have tried and noticed that some lip balms seem to cause the lips to dry out even more (perhaps with a bid for us to buy more). These are also usually the ones which are extremely fragranted but does nothing for the lips.

I believe the first lip balm I ever bought when I was in Secondary School was the Mentholatum Lip Ice which was minty and cool in a teeny weeny little stick.

Mentholatum has recently launched its latest Mentholatum Lip Pure series with 3 variants – Orange, Fragrance Free and Honey Lemon. I was presented with 2 of the 3 new lip balms to try.

What’s unique about them are that they are 100% Natural and 100% Food Grade. They are also filled with antioxidents like Vitamin E and Grape Seed Oil. Some of the key ingredients include Shea Butter Oil, Almond Oil, Aloe Vera Extract and Jojoba Oil. Yup.. truly au naturel!

Formulated with a gentle beeswax formulation. Beeswax has emollient, soothing and softening properties and helps the skin to retain moisture while providing a soft coating that is water resistant. The clear fragrance free lip balm is great for those who are sensitive to colorants and parfum. I typically use this at night before bed and pre-makeup to soften my lips before I put on lipstick. The texture of this is great, it is simply no-frills, non-sticky and tasteless.

The Honey Lemon Gel on the other hand tasted just like honey lemon! It’s got some shimmery golden bits and smells heavenly. I couldn’t help but lick my lips whenever I put it on.

These babies are retailing for S$7.90 each at Watsons, Guardian, Fairprice and all major supermarkets and departmental stores in Singapore.
