MAC Holiday 2014 Collection [Limited Edition]
This year, MAC has outdone themselves with one of the prettiest and functional Holiday collection. It is also one of THE MOST massive collection ever! Very often, brands would release Christmas blockbuster collections which covers eyes, face, and lips. MAC has gone beyond that this year and released a collection that also includes shades for parties – glitter, shimmer, gloss, and even brushes.
It is actually my first time previewing MAC Holiday collections and I have to admit, I was overwhelmed! There were just so many items to take admire, take pictures, swatch and note down key specifics, and of course, the prices!
Some initial thoughts on the collection and key information before I let you drool over the pictures below. The packaging is very victorian inspired and classy – think Marie Antoinette. The Keepsakes are lined with pearls and coated with glitter that thankfully does not have any fall out at all. I think the palette are all very well coordinated, they contain colours that I can use to create a single look for day and night. The quality of the products are well… awesome, as MAC always is. I’m so glad they created those Extra Dimension eyeshadow duos. I love them! More swatches below.

Keep your eyes peeled for 4 gorgeous sub-collections that’s part of this massive Holiday 2014 collection 🙂
Strike and heir of sophistication this holiday season, with royally rich colour that exudes an aristocratic allure. Smoky mauve, pearlized plum and sultry dark green imbue eyes with breathtaking intensity. This is a collection of individual colour pieces.
Objects of Affection
Colour takes over this holiday, in a collection of mini kits filled with elegant, gilded hues dressed up in glitterized boxes adorned with a cameo medallion. MAC Objects of Affection Pigments and Glitter comes in four elegant shade waves – shimmering frost of silver and blue; antique pink and rose; elegant sparkle of gold and beige; and noir riche of deep bronze.
I know.. it’s pretty confusing and mind boggling, looking at all these pretty makeup pictures, let alone differentiating one sub-collection from another. As a rule of thumb, all KEEPSAKES are housed in pretty palettes that are lined with pears and have the iconic “Marie Antoinette” inspired medallion attached.
There are 4 different Keepsake sets:
- Keepsake Eyes | Keepsake Face
- Keepsake Lips and Eyes Bag – 2 sets (Ruby Woo – red) and a Peachy neutral set
- Keepsake Brush Kits – there are 3 sets in total with 5 brushes in each set.
- Keepsake Giftables – these are Keepsake gift bags that you can purchase separately to house the gifts you picked out for your friends and loved ones.
You might have already seen the Viva Glam Rihanna lipsticks and Lipglass at MAC counters. Yup it’s the same one, except there will be a red pouch that comes with the lipsticks. There will also be a Viva Glam Lip Palette (not pictured below).
And finally, I shall part with an aerial view of the entire collection.. Which sub-collections are you most excited about?
Oh… and here’s ashot of me wearing the hot pink matte lipstick from the Heirloom Mix – No Faux Pas. Really pretty shade (apologies about the quality of the shot! iPhone 6 front camera)..
Thanks for reading.. Hope this has helped you pre-select what you would aim at once the collection is released because as with most MAC collections, they literally FLY off the shelves within HOURS!
