January Vanity Trove plus Albion Skin Conditioner Rave!

Hello there!! I know I know.. We are already almost at the tail end of January.. Kinda late to showcase January’s Vanity Trove.

Better late than never. I received this box just before I left for Japan back in December so didn’t have the time to try any of the items. I was especially excited about a number of items I received because they make perfect travel companions in the cold winter weather of Japan.

Here’s what I got in my box:

At first glance, it doesn’t look like much, but trust me, just like all Vanity Trove boxes, you have got to take everything out to unveil their goodness. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a deluxe sample size of Dr Georgia Lee’s Collagen Essence in the box. Since I don’t usually bring along my facial essence when I travel, that automatically found it’s way to my travel bag. 😉

I have heard so many good things about the Bifesta facial wipes but because they were meant for oily skin – I gave them to my sis to try and she loved them! 90% of everything in that box came along with me to Japan.

This month, Vanity Trove also incorporated a new mini magazine in their box describing all the products included as well as the discount coupons that came with. I though this was a really nifty concept, since we can simply tear the coupons to use rather than risk losing them.

I have tried Belif products a couple years back and have always liked how hydrating they were. One product that I didn’t expect to love as much as I did was the Albion Skin Conditioner which is just a facial toner. I never used to think much about toners except that they were an essential step to a standard facial regime to close out the pores after cleansing and to set the base for other skincare.

The weather in Japan ranged from 1 – 14 degrees and normally, my skin would very quickly become dehydrated and dull. However, after a week in Japan, I noticed that my skin was no where near dehydrated/dull, in fact it was kept moisturized and dewy!! Yes, dewy in cold winter weather. The only main think I changed up in my routine was my facial toner which I replaced with the Albion Skin Conditioner – a product and brand that was alien to me before I received the January Vanity Trove.

Formulated with key ingredient concentrated COix Lacryma-jobi (Job’s tears’) extract, Skin Conditioner Essential aims to restore skin to good health and boost skin’s self-recuperative capacity.

Studies done by the National Taiwan University as well as WonKwang University in South Korea have discovered that components in COix Lacryma-jobi (Job’s tears’) have the ability to curb melanin production, eliminate free radicals and inhibit active oxygen.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product. It was such a shame that I only realised the benefits of the Skin Conditioner after I left Tokyo for Kyushu. Otherwise I would most definitely pick up a full sized bottle from the Albion counter. Well at least there’s a counter here in Singapore now!

The Albion beauty counter is located at Takashimaya Level 1.  Albion’s Skin Conditioner Essential is available at $82 for 165ml or $140 for 330ml.

To be honest, this is the beauty of subscription boxes like Vanity Trove. It lets you try a new product that you would otherwise not have tried, and better still if it is something that works perfectly for your needs. Thank you Camy for sending me the box and finding this wonderful product!

If you have not tried any subscription beauty boxes, I urge you to give it a try. For $25 a month, you get a box of 5-6 beauty items, with usually a deluxe or full sized item to try. If you have are keen, do check out vanitytrove.com
