Festive Nails – Chinese New Year
If you followed me on Twitter, you would probably know that I was away just before Chinese New Year and only got back from Koh Samui late Monday night. Since I did not have time to get my nails done professionally (had to cancel an appointment I booked a month in advance due to work committments), I had to do all my nails myself for the new year. Which, to be honest, isn’t too bad, since I really enjoy doing my fingernails. But I can’t say the same for my toes. At the end of the 2 coats of polish, my back was so stiff I could barely sit up straight or stand!!
I didn’t want to do the traditional red nails since I already did them during Christmas with my Chanel Rouge Carat. So I decided to play it up a little by maintaining a hint of red for good luck and added some gold to represent “Prosperity”.
First I painted 2 coats of China Glaze Tempation Carnation. Then added a red french tip using Deborah Lippman Red Ruby Slippers and lined the tip with a gold glitter – OPI Glow Up Already! Received the Deborah Lippman mini sized nail polish from Luxola.com when I ordered a number of items during their CNY 30% special. Will have a separate haul post showcasing the items I received.
So, here’s the final look!
Because I did the nails late at night like 12am or so, I had to use my Seche UV Lamp to cure the topcoat so that I could get some sleep. I must say, I am really loving that UV Lamp, except that the bulb has got mood swings – it take several “knocks” to get it lighted up to it’s maximum capability. I need to get replacement bulbs soon!!!
That’s all for now. Thanks for looking!
