Dior Fluid Stick… You Need
Recently, liquid lipsticks have become all the hype all over again. Dior has also joined the bandwagon and released a newly formulated lip product that can be easily mistaken for a lipstick or lip gloss. But, it’s neither a lipstick or a gloss.
The new product is a one coat do-it-all hybrid lip fluid for high impact colour, gloss and shine. Just don’t call it a lipstick!
There are 16 colours in total in the collection. So what’s so special about the fluid stick?
Unlike lip glosses, the Dior Addict Fluid Stick contains no wax that could weigh down it’s texture. It is simply formulated with water. As soon as the texture is applied, the water evaporates, leaving bursting colour like a shot of glossy pigments, moisturized lips, a nude skin feel and slight sensation of freshness.
I absolutely love the promotional video for the Fluid Stick. Watch it here! It’s really cool how it’s done and totally reflects the product perfectly.
Packaging and Applicator:
At first glance, it is easy to mistaken the Dior Addict Fluid Stick for a lipstick because it does look like one. But when you twist open the top, what you see is a heart-shaped doe-foot applicator. I absolutely love the applicator, the size and shape is perfect for precision application.
4 Show-Stopping Shades
Within the Dior Addict Fluid Stick palette of colours are 4 maximum impact, must-have shades. Sophisticated, ultra-trendy IT shades that evoke what Christian Dior said of his most spectacular creations – breakthrough designs, symbols of new fashion that will be on the covers or in features of magazines.
These shades also came with matching newly formulated Dior Vernis which I will feature in a separate post.
Pandore – A pure, radiant flamboyant red. In one word, explosive. And so bold that it could almost be forbidden.
Wonderland – A rush of fuchsia pink pigments, an extreme burst of colour that glorifies the look instantly on application. Magical…
Aventure – An electrifying coral, bright and filled with light, for uncompromising allure and a real flash of bold.
Mirage – An incredibly lively tone, beige at first glance but reveals itself to be enhanced with a hint of pink upon closer look. A beautiful illusion to flatter any complexion.
I am wearing Mirage in the above FOTD 🙂
My overall thoughts:
I have been wearing these non-stop since I received them and I really love the texture. This says a lot because I’m not usually one to wear glosses or like glossy textures. Then again, this isn’t a gloss!
The YSL Glossy stains are most comparable to these. I have been a huge fan of those since it came out but now that I’ve tried the Dior Fluid Sticks, I think I much prefer the Fluid Sticks. Reason being that the texture is slightly thicker and more intense. Because it is water-based, there is no sticky feeling at all. It is very comfortable to wear and is definitely very long lasting. Best of all, even when the water (liquid) texture evaporates, what stays behind is a lovely pigment and even after eating, you will find a nice uniform stain left behind on the lips.
The Dior Fluid Sticks are currently available at all Dior counters at $47 a pop. Do check it out, you will not regret it!
