Sephora Paris Haul – Too Faced & NARS
My very first introduction to Sephora was in Paris back in 2004 when I did my first Central and Western Europe tour. At that time, Paris had numerous Yves Rocher stores everywhere. It was their local beauty store. But, they never really caught my eye… until I saw a large Sephora store smack in the middle of Champs Elysee. It was heaven! I remembered being extremely fascinated by the massive variety of cosmetics and skincare. At that time, even the house brand Sephora products got my adrenaline pumping.
2 weeks ago, I returned to Paris with my girl friend for a girl’s trip. We did the Amsterdam (my 3rd time visiting), Brussels and Paris route. It was an awesome trip… especially Paris. I only had time to pop by Sephora on my last day and had to restrict myself to only items I really want which I can’t get in Singapore. They weren’t exactly inexpensive – the exchange rate was a whopping 1.81, but the experience at the store was memorable. It was nostalgia when I stepped in. The rows and rows of cosmetics, the long walkway into the store simply blew me away.
Remember how the Urban Decay Naked Palette is always unavailable in Singapore? It was in abundance in Paris! I had initially planned to get myself the Urban Decay Book of Shadows IV but changed my mind when I laid my eyes on the Too Faced Limited Edition Sweet Dreams Collection. I was captivated by the girly, pixie like box!
I’ve never tried Too Faced Shadow Insurance so this was a really good opportunity. I have since tried it and I must say, I kinda like it.. almost as much or even more than the Urban Decay Shadow Primer.
Super gorgeous palette.. It’s simply too pretty to resist.
Of course, it comes with Chocolate Soleil which I have always wanted to try. Too Faced has got a pretty good range of bronzers which are to-die-for.
It also comes with 3 little cards with suggestions on how to mix and match the colors in the palette for different occasions.
It comes with 15 of Too Faced’s best selling eyeshadows. I really like how it’s got a good mix of shimmer, satin and matte shadows which make up a pretty good blending mix.
Apart from the above gorgeous palette, I also picked up 3 NARS blushes and a NARS eyeliner. Had initially intended to only pick up the NARS Orgasm but ended up with Douceur and Gilda as well. I simply could not resist. They were all so beautiful. I guess it was largely because NARS is not available in Singapore, hence making it more desirable.
Both Douceur and Gilda are matte blushes which Orgasm is shimmery. I have since tried on the Douceur and Orgasm and I must say I love them both. Douceur is a really natural looking color that is good for everday wear.
Here, I’m wearing everything from the Too Face Sweet Dreams Collection. Color got flushed out by my lighting though 🙁
Apart from the above items which I purchased, the #1 Top Bestseller in Paris Sephora was the Sephora Makeup Studio Blockbuster which was selling for EUR39.00. I contemplated a long time because it was so cute and had so many colors to play with. Though I must say Sephora cosmetics are pretty much a hit and miss – i.e. some colors are fine while others barely had pigmentation. I finally decided against getting it due to the weight. It was a good thing I did not because my bags were bursting by the time I left Paris!
Okie.. that wraps up my haul. I picked up the Too Faced Sweet Dreams Collection at EUR48.00. Are they available at Sephora Singapore? If so, how much? (Right, this is just so that I know if i got a good deal..hehe ) Have you seen the above Blockbuster palette? Would you get it?
Thanks for popping by!
