Review: A-England Nail Polish in Tristam
As promised in my earlier post, I will do a review of my newly acquired A-England nail polishes.
Just painted my nails with the color Tristam – described on the website as “Night blue sky with starlight glimmer and glow”. It is recommended on the website to apply 3 coats of varnish for extremely glossy almost mirror finish (of course, this is to be topped with their recommended topcoat The Shield).
To be honest, before I placed my order, that statement above to apply 3 coats of varnish was kind of a put off. I had initialy thought the varnish would not very pigmented and would probably be difficult to apply. Boy, was I in for a surprise!
The varnish was so pigmented and smooth that it almost covered the white tip of my nail with just a single coat. It was surprisingly glossy for a first coat and the color was pretty close to the bottle! I was almost tempted to just leave it this way as I was feeling lazy.. haha
But I thought, since I’m halfway through, I might as well carry on and put on the second coat. This time, my white nail tip was fully camouflaged and I was presented with an extremely beautiful shade of deep blue with fine shimmers. Much like the stars in the galaxy. Pretty!
Of course, since it is late at night, I didn’t want to wait for any topcoat to dry so I used my Seche UV System, which comprises of the Ultra UV Topcoat and UV Lamp.
9 minutes later……….. Voila!
Earlier today, I was contemplating purchasing more China Glaze nail polishes which were on sale. Guess I’m tossing that idea away for now and shall wait for A-England to have another sale. Absolutely love the quality of the nail polish. Guess my only gripe is that it seems to dry pretty fast so you can’t take your own sweet time with each coat.
Another reason to love this color – my hubby who always gives an “ok” answer to everything I wear or use, actually noticed the new color and even expressed his liking for it. Haha, now that’s a first!!
That’s all for now. Happy with my nails for the week 🙂
Good night and hope you have a great week ahead!
