Haul: A-England Nail Polish
Gong Xi Fa Cai to all who celebrate the Lunar New Year! May the new year be filled with wealth, health and joy!
Sometime early this month, I chanced upon a UK based Nail Polish company – A-England. It was a pretty uniquely themed online store – much like an ancient mythical british empire, a cross between reality and fantasy. Here’s a snippet from their “About” page..
Anyway, there was an Anniversary sale early this month with 30% off all nail polishes on their website. The original price of each polish was £9.00 and only £6.30 after the discount. I finally caved in and chose 4 colours after exiting and returning to the website for the hundredth time, contemplating which ones to get. Here’s what I got..
Left to right: Morgan Le Fay | Tristam | Guinevere | Lady Of The Lake
Like I said, this company is unique in it’s own way. It does not only have awesome names for their polishes, but also description for each and everyone of them – it’s as though they are chess pieces on the chess board. Each and every polish has got it’s own personality! How cool is that!?
- Morgan Le Fay, the Enchantress – Half sister of Arthur, sorceress and healer, she is one of the women who takes the injured Arthur in a barge to Avalon to be healed.
- Tristam, the Corteos Knight – The symbol of the knightly virtue, and romantic love. When Tristam and Iseult accidentally consume a love potion, fall helplessly in love. Despite facing numerous trials to test their secret affair their love was never known to fade.
- Guinevere, the Queen – The most beautiful and desirable lady in Britain. Spouse of King Arthur and involved in a passionate affair with young Lancelot which is one of the most celebrated legendary love triangle.
- Lady Of The Lake, the Iconic Hand With Sword – (Foster mother of Lancelot) a woman of great magical power. She resided in the murky water of a lake, an otherworld. She presented the mythical sword Excalibur to King Arthur with her hand emerging from the water.
On top of the gorgeous website layout, polish presentation and names, the service was also really good. I placed my order on the 10Jan and I received my items on 25Jan which is merely 2 weeks!
Stay tuned for the swatches coming up real soon!
Thanks for looking!
