Dr GL Cleanser Lightening [Photos & Review]

Hi there!

Just a quick review of a new cleanser – Dr GL Cleanser Lightening, that I have been using the last couple weeks.

Product Description:

The Dr GL Cleanser Lightening is indispensable for uneven skin tones and pigmentation caused by UV rays. It cleans gently and thoroughly, then goes one step further to repair and protect skin against the damaging effects of the sun. On the surface, skin looks brighter, more even-toned; deep within, its defences reinforced.

The Dr GL Difference:
DrGL® is a range of custom skincare personally formulated for Asian skin types and climate by Dr Georgia Lee. Eschewing the mass for a carefully crafted selection of premium quality products, DrGL® offers the modern busy individual maximum efficacy, minimum fuss.

Uses an exceptionally high concentration of stabilised Vitamin C, widely acknowledged to be one of the most effective weapons against photoaging. Not content with standard ingredients, the Vitamin C in this formula is the best grade available, cost notwithstanding. Its powerful antioxidant action is harnessed to repair skin at the deepest level and prevent future sun damage.

Directions:
Gently massage onto damp skin in circular motion and rinse.

I am always drawn to products infused with Vitamin C – it’s a personal addiction and goal to achieve luminous skin.
This is a water-based cleanser that is very lightweight and fragrance free. All you need is 1-2 pumps to cleanse the entire face. I would suggest pumping the cleanser out into your pumps as shown in the picture below as opposed to standing the bottle on your vanity and attempting to pump the cleanser into your palms. I tried that several times and the pumps either spilled all over or splattered/flew across the washroom!

This cleanser does not foam up as much as most other cleansers, so I would not recommend using this with Clarisonic.

My Thoughts:

  • I like how it is fragrance free and leaves my face clean without any tightness or dryness like some cleansers do.
  • I would not recommend using this as a make-up remover even though it does remove some make-up. It is best used as the 2nd cleanser after removing your make-up with your preferred make-up remover.
  • As for lightening, I have not yet noticed too much difference since I have only been using for 2 weeks.

This product would work great for all skin types, particularly oily and combination skin.

It is available at Dr GL online shop, Escentials and Robinsons outlets at $88 for 100ml.

Thanks for looking!
